As a teacher, I’m always looking for ways to talk about mental health with my students in a way that feels safe and natural. The Brain Books have been an absolute gem for that. These beautiful little books break down how our brains work in a way that kids can actually understand. They’re perfect for helping kids see their minds as something they can understand, care for, and appreciate.
What I love most is that they spark real conversations in the classroom about things like feelings, resilience, and self-care. And honestly, they’re just as meaningful for us grown-ups, too. They serve as a great reminder, that learning about our brains can help us be our healthiest, happiest selves.
These books not only help kids understand their brain, emotions and how to regulate but also great for parents/adults to better understand what’s happening to their kids (and adults) in challenging moments and how to meet them with compassion and use great tools to best support them
Thank you for the amazing books Orlanda. Our son often talks about how breathing exercises helps calm his amygdala :)
We weren't sure if the books would 'click' with the kids (aged 9 and 6), but they love them! They are really benefiting from the knowledge and the exercises. Helping our eldest through a rough patch at school. Recommend!
We been going thru big feelings with 4 yr old the books help him learn about what he needs to do to help reset. He loved the chart showing his emotions and how to help.
